July 23, 2026 - Chief Robert William is sworn in as the 21st Chief of Police for the Glendale Police Department.
Chief William’s journey with GPD spans more than two decades—beginning as a student volunteer and Police Cadet before being sworn in as an officer in 2003. He rose through the ranks, serving in a variety of roles, including Deputy Chief, before being appointed Interim Chief in December 2025 and officially named Chief in June 2026.
A Glendale native with deep roots in our community, Chief William took the oath of office surrounded by family, colleagues, and community members—marking the beginning of the next chapter for the department.
